Safety is a priority for 741 Elgin Air Cadets. As a rule of thumb if school buses are cancelled for the day in St. Thomas, cadets will also be cancelled. If weather conditions become poor during the day a discussion to cancel cadets will take place prior to 5:00 p.m. A notification will be posted on Facebook, and an email sent. A cancelled notice will also be posted in the Cadet Calendar on this the Squadron website. Weather conditions are often different outside of St. Thomas in neighboring communities. Staff and Cadets travelling to St. Thomas for cadets are expected to make responsible decisions and err on the side of caution by not driving anytime they feel the road conditions are not safe or are anticipated to deteriorate.
